Interactive Universe — a real-time 3D map of our universe

Interactive Universe (Cosmoscope) is a free, real-time 3D map of the cosmos that runs in your browser. Fly from a live, correctly sunlit Earth out past the planets, the deep-space probes, notable comets and asteroids, and beyond the Milky Way — all in one continuous zoom, built on real astronomical data.

It shows, at their real positions and to scale:

Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, and click any object to fly to it and read live distances and light-travel times. A time control scrubs from the past into the future, or pins to real time.
